Business in Australia (ABN):: 2024FY Quarter 2 GST/BAS Lodgement Deadline (28/02/2024)

  • 1 min read

Hello, this is your tax accountant, P&C Tax Professionals.

Please be reminded that the deadline for the lodgement of the Quarter 2 Business Activity Statement (BAS) is on 28th February 2024 (Wednesday). The BAS lodgement that is due on this date is for the period covering 1st October 2023 to 31st December 2023.

Under the Australian tax legislation, businesses operating in Australia with an ABN and who are registered for GST due to their GST turnover surpassing the $75,000 threshold, are required to lodge their BAS return either monthly or quarterly. Conversely, if your GST turnover is less than $75,000 and you have voluntarily registered for GST, you have the option to lodge your BAS return annually rather than monthly or quarterly.

Failing to submit your BAS return by the specified deadline, 28th February 2024, may result in a fine from the Australian Taxation Office. Therefore, it is strongly advised to commence preparations for your BAS lodgement promptly to avoid the risk of missing the deadline.

If you need assistance with lodging your GST/BAS return, please feel free to contact P&C Tax Professionals through our email address (pnctax@naver.com) or by reaching out to us on our official Facebook Page (P&C Tax Professionals – Australia) at your earliest convenience.

Thank you and bye for now!

I've even starred this post in my browser for easy reference, which is something I rarely do https://johnnie-kash-kings.net/ It makes me wonder, though, if the reality of navigating Business Australia is more complex than the initial perception. Your point about where it falls short and the reasons behind those failures is also crucial. Understanding those potential pitfalls is just as important as knowing how to get started, if not more so, for anyone looking to engage with it effectively. This is genuinely…
